Grilled asparagus
Most of you asparagus friends sure know grilled green asparagus, but do you know grilled white asparagus. I’ve tested ist several times and must say: delicious.
Grilled Asparagus with Chervil Butter
Ingredients for 1 recipe:
500 g white asparagus extra thick
4 tbsp. Olive oil
250 g butter
2 very small shallots
2 Chervil
2 tbsp. Olive oil
salt
Preparation:
Peel the asparagus and cook al dente – let cool slightly and douse with olive oil – at least 1 hour to marinate.
Cut the asaragus to approximately 10 cm length – grill on infernally hot charcoal about 2 minutes.
Serve with the Chervil Butter:
For the butter, cut the shallots. Stew in olive oil 4-5 minutes on low heat. Mix with the butter and the chopped chervil – season with salt to taste.
It tastes delicious with a fresh baguette or new potatoes.
If you can’t get chervil, you can use chives instead.
Over here in Germany all people love white asparagus. Green asparagus is not very common here. I’ve learned that in the US it’s vice versa. I hope with this new site I can turn ist a bit around
